Iron & Titanium
Magnetite and ilmenite concentrates for the steel, pigment and titanium value chains.
Iron for steel, titanium forpigment
Magnetite and ilmenite often occur together. The first feeds the steel industry; the second, the titanium dioxide and titanium metal chains.
Magnetite is a magnetic iron oxide that is easy to concentrate. It is feedstock for pellets and sinter in ironmaking, and it serves as dense medium in coal washing, where density and fineness matter as much as chemistry. It is a bulk market with demanding logistics, and buyers look closely at the chemistry, the impurities and the physical behaviour of the material.
Ilmenite is an iron-titanium oxide. It is the main feedstock for titanium dioxide (TiO2), the white pigment in paints, plastics and paper, made by either the sulfate or the chloride route. It is also smelted into titanium slag, and part of the chain ends in titanium metal. Each route accepts a different concentrate profile. That is where our work starts: finding the fit.

Main industrial uses
Two distinct industrial chains
- 01
Pellets and sinter
Magnetite concentrate is agglomerated to feed blast furnaces and direct-reduction plants.
- 02
Coal washing
Fine magnetite forms the dense medium that separates clean coal from waste rock.
- 03
TiO2 pigment
Ilmenite feeds sulfate-route plants and, once upgraded, chloride-route plants.
- 04
Slag and titanium metal
Smelting ilmenite yields a titanium-rich slag, the base for pigment and for the metal chain.
In iron and titanium, consistency ofsupply weighs as much as chemistry.
Who buys it
Iron & Titanium
- 01
Steelmakers and pellet plants
They want consistent chemistry and reliable long-term logistics.
- 02
Pigment producers
They select ilmenite by process, sulfate or chloride, and by their impurity limits.
- 03
Slag smelters and traders
They blend concentrates from several sources and value well-documented counterparties.
With every offer
What comes with an offer
- 01
The dossier
A useful dossier brings the available information together in one place: material, lot, assays and proposal. It also makes any missing documents visible.
- 02
Documentary and technical evaluation
The review starts by comparing the industrial requirement with the documentation received. A photograph, an assay and an offer each serve a different purpose.
- 03
Samples and trial lots
A sample must be linked to its lot and to an agreed assessment objective. The scope of any test is defined by the parties.
- 04
Clear delivery terms
Supply takes more than a date: destination, packaging, documents and delivery terms must all fit the deal.
Our contribution
- Confidentiality
We never share your name or your requirements with anyone until a mutual NDA is signed.
- Verification
You test the material in your own laboratory before committing to anything.
- Personal service
One person handles your deal from the first email to the contract, in your language.
Industries we serve
The industries that depend onthese materials
- 01
Defence and aerospace
Magnets, superalloys and high-performance metals for critical systems.
- 02
Steel
Magnetite for pellets and sinter, and ferroniobium for high-strength steel.
- 03
TiO2 pigments
Ilmenite feeds titanium dioxide plants on both the sulfate and chloride routes.
Frequently asked questions
Iron & Titanium
Do you offer magnetite and ilmenite together or separately?
Each material is assessed and contracted on its own, according to the buyer's industrial chain.
Is the ilmenite suited to the sulfate or the chloride route?
It depends on the concentrate and on each plant's limits. We review it with your technical team, based on the dossier and your own assays.
How is logistics organised?
As agreed in each deal, usually on FOB, CFR or CIF terms. The details are set in the supply contract.
